Excuses, Excuses, Excuses!
Hey everyone, if anyone is left....... I am sorry I dropped the blog but, I ran out of pictures of things. I had hoped to find enough through the summer to sustain through the year, but no. I am going to give the blog another go and the new poll is up. Pictures are going to be limited and will also include pictures of carnivals, fairs, amusement parks, etc As well as circuses and circus animals. I will also be including tidbits of info that i feel comfortable posting with ruining trust with my respect friends and collegues in the circus and carnival industry. I will not be updating every day, but hopefully every few. I will also be adding some new features that I am trying out for a new daily blog coming March of 2009, entitled RouteBlog.
For those of you who were told I would be relaunching on Sept. 15th, I apoligize!

The winner of the 'Favorite cat act' Poll goes to Adam Burck. Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but Adam has worked his Hawthorn cat act since 2006. Spending the Spring with Hamid, summer and early fall with Carden, then back to Hamid, I think. Sprinkle in a bit of Migley, Hanneford, Coronas, you have Adam's seasons. His father is former Ringling and Evansville headliner Wade Burck. His mother is Margaret Duke.

Today, The Anah Shrine Circus produced by Struppi Hanneford. It should have been called the ANAHstasini Shrine Circus, as they made up most of the line-up, along with the Perfilyev Family, Lance Ramos, and Brett Marshall.

In Newmarket, ON, while touring through Canada with Garden Brothers Circus last year, Carson and Barnes Elephants got loose at night. Here's what happened. The two guilty pachyderms were Suzie and Bunny.

Aad Shrine Circus
Today are 10 photos of George Carden Circus in my hometown of Duluth, MN. This date is responsible for my love of animals and circuses in general. I forget camera's exist during performance but last show of the stand, I took pictures during both comein and intermission. i was walking to the Shrine stand to buy lunch and my camera fell out, and I snapped one photo of The Mighty King Bo. you read that right, I took these photos. Osman Shrine Circus
Today, ten photos of the Les Kimes Produced Osman Shrine Circus in St. Paul, MN on April 3rd-6th,2008. Good show with a star studded line-up. The show featured the Tarzan Zerbini Light and Sound System as well as Mr. Zerbini's ringmaster, star clown, lighting director and Mr. Larry Solheim, long time Zerbini sound man.

Favorite Shrine Producer Winner
Emmett Kelly JR. and Jody JordanJody Jordan was voted Favorite Shrine Producer. Jody operates Jordan World Circus out of Las Vegas, NV. Frequently, two units are touring. One under his direction, the other under the direction of his beautiful wife, Melanie. Home office is managed by Jody's mother Patsy, with his sister Delisa handling advertising. Jody's route(s) are Shrine based. Big dates for him would be Denver, Sacramento, Syracuse, Memphis, Flint, Billings and many many more

Today, my first series features elephant acts from around the circus world. We start off with Armando Loyal and the Kelly Miller Elephants. Note: These are not the Kelly Miller elephants of years past. These three are Becky, Lisa, and Tracy. The regular KM herd (Viola, Nina, Libby) have been playing Shrine dates with an unknown presenter.

Circus Vidbel
Circus Vidbel will be returning under the direction of Susan Vidbel and husband Mike Ashton. The show will begin with a four week test tour through New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. If things go well, a 2009 season will be planned. Performing on Al's 120x80 red and white striped tent, the show will travel on 4 vehicles. Two semis, two cube vans pulling box trailers. Also included will be performers trailers and private vehicles.

The Pittsburgh Shrine circus was held at MellonArena April 4th-6th, 2008It was produced by Struppi Hanneford and featured Cayton Rosaire Cats, Tim Frisco Elephants, Martinez family with Rocky, the Kangaroo. Vlastic and kim Sue Valla, Flying Pages and more.
